The brief

Two distinguishable design houses. Two levels, large windows. Inspired by old Dutch fishermen's houses.

What you learn

  • Study an anchor-beam frame with tie beams, rafters and knee braces.
  • See how floor, loft and purlin bays are repeated with one generator.
  • Look at the stepped glass gable with its overhang.
  • Read the stair, porch and pile braces.
