Profiled end

A profiled end shapes the end of a part to a curve in one face, as on a rafter tail or a purlin head.

When to use it

Use a hollow or a rounding for a decorated rafter tail, and a cambered profile for a tail whose underside follows a gentle curve. The depths run from the chosen face into the part.

Add a profiled end

1. Select the part in the Parts list.
2. Under Extra processings, click Add.
3. Type profile in the search field and pick Profiled end.
4. Pick the End and the Face the profile is cut from.
5. Pick a Shape: hollow, rounded or cambered, and set its sizes.
6. Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.

Note

BTL writes all three shapes with its own profile head records. BTLx writes the cambered profile, with a note to check the first part; a hollow or a rounding is listed for finishing by hand, since BTLx describes a profile head another way. BVN writes them in the shop test pack only, and BVX has no element for a profiled end.

Machine export

BTL 10.6	Supported	101 hollow, 102 rounding and 103 cambered profile heads, as the standard machining they are.
