Notch
A notch removes a block of material from a face over part of the length. It is also called a lap or a rebate.

When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”Use a notch where two parts cross and sit into each other, or for a rebate along an edge. In the fitting workspace the engine adds notches for you where members overlap.

Default: what Add fills in on a 3000 mm part of 120 x 120 mm.
Add a notch
Section titled “Add a notch”- Select the part in the Parts list.
- Under Extra processings, click Add.
- Type
notchin the search field and pick Notch. - Set Face and Position X. Leave Angle at square unless the notch runs at an angle.
- Set Length and Depth. Leave Position Y and Width at full width, or set them to limit the notch across the face.
- Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.
Machine export
