Marking

A marking is a scribe line across a face. It removes no material.

When to use it

Use a marking to show where another part goes, where to cut on site, or a reference height.

Fields

Line spacing	mm	from 1	Standard (90 mm)	Distance between the two lines of a double marking. Picking Double fills in 90 mm. BVN, BVX and BTLx all write this same number. The drawings put the second line toward the end of the part, as the BTLx manual does, and the Issues tab warns when it falls past the end. Shown only for some settings of the other fields.

Default: what Add fills in on a 3000 mm part of 120 x 120 mm.

Add a marking

1. Select the part in the Parts list.
2. Under Extra processings, click Add.
3. Type marking in the search field and pick Marking.
4. Set Face and Position X.
5. Leave Angle at square or set an angle, and pick Style. For a double marking, set Line spacing.
6. Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.

Caution

An angled marking cannot be mirrored: it is anchored to the face edge, which moves to the other side when mirrored. BVN and BVX write square and angled markings; a marking along the part is left out.

Machine export

A line at an angle needs a special marking tool, such as a Hundegger K2 or ROBOT-Drive has: the card labels it Specialised machine (which machine can cut it).
