An arch machines a face into a true circular arc over part of the length.

Arch. Drawn by the editor's own geometry code.

Use an arch for curved lintels, braces and purlins. Concave takes timber out of the middle; convex takes it off the ends, so the middle stays at full size.

Centre (x)mmfrom 01500The centre of the arc. The arc runs from x − length/2 to x + length/2.
Lengthmmfrom 11000The chord: the full length the arc spans.
Cambermmfrom 130The camber: how deep the arc dips relative to the chord.
ShapeConcave, ConvexConcaveConcave takes timber out of the middle, convex off the ends.
FaceTop, Bottom, Front, BackTopThe side of the part the processing is on.

Default: what Add fills in on a 3000 mm part of 120 x 120 mm.

  1. Select the part in the Parts list.
  2. Under Extra processings, click Add.
  3. Type arch in the search field and pick Arch.
  4. Set Face and Centre (x), the middle of the arc.
  5. Set Length (the chord), Camber and Shape.
  6. Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.

BVN (Hundegger)Partly supportedExperimental, included with a warning unless you leave it out. CAMBIUM probably reads operation 0903 from the middle of the arch, where our BVN file gives its start, so arches wait until the shop confirms where CAMBIUM puts them.
BVX2 (Hundegger)Partly supportedExperimental, included with a warning unless you leave it out. CAMBIUM's own ArchCut for it is experimental and included with a warning; where CAMBIUM puts the arch along the part is still open.
BTL 10.6Supported104 finished round arch. The receiving machine chooses roughing.

BTL status describes what the specification can represent. CAMBIUM imported our earlier BTL test files; confirmation applies to the tested forms and build. See BTL coverage for representation and receiver caveats.
