Notch
Deze inhoud is nog niet vertaald.
A notch removes a block of material from a face over part of the length. It is also called a lap or a rebate.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”Use a notch where two parts cross and sit into each other, or for a rebate along an edge. In the fitting workspace the engine adds notches for you where members overlap.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”| Veld | Eenheid | Bereik of opties | Standaard | Wat het verandert |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Position X | mm | from 0 | 1450 | Start of the notch along the part. |
| Angle | ° | 0.1 to 179.9 | Square (90°) | Angle of the notch in the face. Unset means square (90°). |
| Orientation | start, end | start | Which part end the notch is measured towards. | |
| Length | mm | from 1 | 100 | Distance between the two shoulders, measured square to them. |
| Depth | mm | from 1 | 40 | How deep the notch goes into the face. |
| Face | Top, Bottom, Front, Back | Top | The side of the part the processing is on. | |
| Position Y | mm | from 0 | Full width | Where a limited notch starts across the face. Unset means full width. |
| Width | mm | from 1 | Full width | Width across the face, as seen square to the part. Unset means full width. |
| Splinter-free | Machine default, Off, Tool path | Machine default | Machining that keeps the edges from splintering. Machine default writes what each file normally has for that operation. BVX and BVN carry an explicit choice where the operation has the setting, and the export says so where it does not. BTLx has no such setting. |
Default: what Add fills in on a 3000 mm part of 120 x 120 mm.
Add a notch
Section titled “Add a notch”- Select the part in the Parts list.
- Under Extra processings, click Add.
- Type
notchin the search field and pick Notch. - Set Face and Position X. Leave Angle at square unless the notch runs at an angle.
- Set Length and Depth. Leave Position Y and Width at full width, or set them to limit the notch across the face.
- Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.
Machine export
Section titled “Machine export”A square notch with its own machining limits, as nearly every notch in a BTLx file has, goes to BVX as the plain notch it cuts: an open side runs to the edge of the face, an open end to the end of the part. BVN takes it by the same rules as a notch you draw, so only when it stays clear of the part ends. A skewed notch goes to BVX and BVN only when it is a turned rectangle; one that runs past both edges of its face, or further past one edge than a shop has seen, goes into the shop test pack only. A notch that runs at an angle across the whole face, as two members crossing at an angle get, is written as the turned rectangle past both edges of the face that holds it, in the shop test pack only for now. It is left out where that rectangle would run past the end of the part, and in BVN where rounding the angle to a tenth of a degree would move a shoulder by more than 0.2 mm.
| Format | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|
| BTLx | Partly supported | Lap, with bounded rotation in the face and explicit limits. |
| BVN (Hundegger) | Partly supported | Operation 0300 for a lap away from the part ends, across the whole face or narrower, and 0305 for a lap turned in its face, always described turned between -90 and 0 degrees as CAMBIUM read it. With a note in the file, as CAMBIUM read them in the shop's September test: a turned rectangle that runs past the edges of its face, and a lap at an angle across the whole face, as the turned rectangle past both edges that holds it, unless rounding its angle to a tenth of a degree would move a shoulder by more than 0.2 mm. A square lap with its own machining limits, as BTLx files carry them, goes out as the plain lap it cuts. A lap at a part end is not written yet: BVX writes it. Experimental, included with a warning unless you leave them out: a lap turned in its face with its sides along the part and closed on both, as operation 0311. |
| BVX2 (Hundegger) | Partly supported | As CAMBIUM writes them: a lap across the whole face as Slot, a narrower one as Pocket, a lap turned in its face as a turned Pocket with RotationZ between -90 and 0. A lap at an angle across the whole face goes out as the turned Pocket past both edges that holds it, with a note in the file. A flat rectangular Pocket past the face edges or anchored off the face is also written with a warning; a turned rectangle must stay within the part's length. A square lap with its own machining limits, as BTLx files carry them, goes out as the plain lap it cuts. A lap at a part end goes out as Slot too, not yet confirmed; the export notes this without blocking. Experimental, included with a warning unless you leave them out: a lap turned in its face with its sides along the part and closed on both, as a DiagonalLapChamfered. Other skewed laps are left out. |
| BTL 10.6 | Supported | 030 full or partial width, either end, turned or angled, with explicit side limits and lead angles. Receiver problems produce warnings. |
BTL status describes what the specification can represent. CAMBIUM imported our earlier BTL test files; confirmation applies to the tested forms and build. See BTL coverage for representation and receiver caveats.
